This session, we are going to keep building your luggage by looking at how Social Media and job searching mix.

 

Sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ allow employers to get a glimpse of who you are outside the limits of a resume, cover letter, or interview.  

 

Used by more then a third of all employers, such sites can both help and hinder your job search efforts.  Even when not job hunting, it's vital you use social media in a way that is appropriate for potential future employers to see.

PART B: Create a LinkedIn Profile

Do you have a LinkedIn profile? If not, we suggest you create one.  LinkedIn now cater to young people as young as 14 years old, so get amongst it!  There are a lot of great resources on YouTube to assist you to create a powerful LinkedIn profile.  Take some time this week to explore this.
